SINKING TITANIC

Titanic , a ship of open grace
One couldn’t digest its details in a glance
So huge , so active , so smooth , so gracious
At night , she shone like the necklace of the sea
Aye , she was the Queen of the sea .

As her majesty sailed along ,
The ship hull whispering a song
In a night so calm and lively
And lo! The iceberg that jutted so cruelly
Twisted the fate of the bejeweled Queen.

The hushed murmurings of the crew ,
The number of life boats so few ,
All went unnoticed by the passengers ,
For they knew nothing of the danger
The children were playing with ice for adventure.

One minute the activity aboard as such ,
The other the mob of people aboard too much ,
As many clung to each other ,
Many flung away from each other .
Cries of plea for help arose
Answered by those nowhere close.

The SOS were tapped ,
The crakers were fired ,
Into half , the ship cracked ,
Lights fell leaving more bodies marked ,
Some of the remaining life sparked .

The ship finally did bow ,
Humbling its glittering glow ,
The raising of ship was slow ,
As it stood along its vertical height ,
For many it was a sight .

The once bejeweled Queen of the sea ,
Now the play ground of the ocean .
A ship so fine , so unique ,
For many its wreck is a panic ,
Oh ! Titanic ! Why did you have to sink ?
